Works at 2.6.9 Beta builds 194. Searching modes.

Why we are doing that?

Data searching is one of the most used operations with CD catalog. Previous Developer report #2 describe how we improve the search with Search Queries and flexible conditions. Now we are continuing our work.

With last CD Bank beta (build 194) you can:

Save the search parameters to file for reusing and restore it at any time;
Manipulate of the search results with Remove and Crop commands;
Search in results to shrink it;
Expand the results with adding the new results to prior.

Searching modes

There is a three searching mode:

New search results. Previous search result will be cleared.
Search in results only. New search will be operated only via previous search result. That mean what each search in results can bind the prior obtained list with new criteria. Moreover, search in results is many time faster than search in whole base.
Add new results to existing. Result of new search will be added to previous. This can create the tally (doubled) items in results.

If result list is empty, any search always treated as new.

Conclusion

Now CD Bank searching functions greatly improved to bring the more powerful catalog management to you. We are testing the new commands and draw up the elaborated plans to continuing our work.
